A catastrophic bus accident in South Africa has resulted in the deaths of 42 individuals, primarily Zimbabwean and Malawian nationals. The incident transpired on a Sunday night as the bus was traversing a mountainous section of the N1 highway in Limpopo province, veering off the road before plunging down an embankment. Reports indicate that among the deceased, there were seven children, alongside 18 women and 17 men. A total of 49 people sustained injuries during this tragic event. The cause of the accident remains unclear, prompting government officials to initiate an investigation. President Cyril Ramaphosa expressed his sorrow regarding the high death toll, emphasizing that this tragedy resonates not only with South Africa but also with Zimbabwe and Malawi.
