In brief

In a televised address on Monday, President Zelenskyy warned that Russia is preparing a massive attack aimed at Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and logistics. He called for global pressure on Moscow, cited intelligence indicating an imminent strike, and emphasized Ukraine’s readiness to retaliate. The Kremlin has yet to reply to the warning.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned on Monday that Russia is preparing a large‑scale attack on Ukraine, focusing on the country’s energy infrastructure and logistics, in an evening address to the nation.

We must not play games with Russia’s oil and gas revenues. We must put so much pressure on Russia that it has no alternative but to end this war.

He said the Kremlin is hoping that the U.S. mid‑term elections will divert global attention from Ukraine’s military struggles, including its stretched air‑defence and limited access to Patriot missiles.

We will certainly respond to the attack Russia is preparing now.

Zelenskyy said Ukraine remains ready to counter any new strike, describing its previous counter‑attacks as having a “tangible impact” on Russian targets.

In an intelligence briefing released by the Ukrainian presidency, officials also stated that they have “intel that Russia is preparing a new massive attack on our country – primarily targeting energy and logistics.”

Russia has not yet issued a response to the warning, leaving the international community to decide how to apply pressure on Moscow’s energy and logistics ambitions.
