Former Fox News personality and current State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce has been nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as the United States deputy representative to the United Nations. Announcing her nomination via a post on Truth Social, Trump praised Bruce's impressive performance at the State Department, where she has served since his administration began in January.

With an extensive background as a conservative commentator for over two decades, Bruce has penned multiple books that critique liberal ideologies, with her notable title being "Fear Itself: Exposing the Left's Mind-Killing Agenda." The timeline for her transition to this new position hinges on Senate confirmation, the specifics of which remain uncertain.

In his announcement, Trump described Bruce as "a Great Patriot, Television Personality, and Bestselling Author," expressing confidence that she will embody the role with excellence. As a spokesperson, she has played a controversial role in advocating for several of the administration's foreign policy measures, including immigration enforcement and the deployment of private military contractors for humanitarian assistance in Gaza.

Currently, Mike Waltz has also been nominated as the UN ambassador but awaits Senate approval, while Dorothy Shea continues to serve as the acting ambassador following her tenure as deputy ambassador in 2024.
