A high‑speed pursuit that rattled the streets of Ipswich and Brisbane in Queensland has ended, with police taking two suspects into custody following a frantic chase through the city’s key arteries.
The chase began late Friday when a vehicle was reported swerving through a residential area in Ipswich, allegedly involved in a robbery prior to taking the road. Police units rapidly closed in, deploying CS units and a dedicated pursuit squad. The suspect(s) fled for several kilometres, weaving between traffic lanes and attempting to evade the pursuing officers.
The operation ended near a major intersection in Brisbane’s eastern suburbs, where the suspect’s vehicle was immobilised, allowing officers to detain the individuals without incident. Authorities confirmed that both suspects were arrested on charges of armed robbery, resisting arrest, and unlawful use of a vehicle.
