Authorities seized forged judicial credentials, a firearm and recorded footage. Court staff and other collaborators were also interrogated. The Interior Ministry announced the arrest of an unemployed worker from Giza and a Cairo student who were accused of forging judicial identities and using social media to lure victims into a housing‑fraud scheme.

Officials said the men staged fake courtroom scenarios and wore authentic judicial sashes to boost believability. A police investigation revealed a firearm, forged ID cards and video footage of the accused posing as a judge during mock trials.

Both suspects testified to forming a criminal gang that promised citizens access to state‑managed housing. The Ministry also detained court employees who allegedly assisted the plot and were questioned for their involvement.

The case unfolded when a victim reported being deceived by an individual claiming to be a judge. Subsequent police action led to the arrests and the seizure of evidence.
