US president Donald Trump has doubled down on his threats to take control of Greenland, saying on social media that there is 'no going back' and that 'Greenland is imperative'.

During a news conference at the White House, Trump was asked how far he was willing to go to acquire Greenland and replied, 'You'll find out'.

Meanwhile, French president Emmanuel Macron warned during the World Economic Forum in Switzerland of a 'shift towards a world without rules', while Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney remarked that the 'old order is not coming back'.

Trump is set to arrive in Davos on Wednesday, with numerous meetings scheduled regarding Greenland.

During the press briefing, Trump stated, 'Things are going to work out pretty well' in Greenland when asked about the alliance with NATO. He did not dismiss the possibility of military action to secure Greenland, stating 'no comment' when asked directly if he would use force.

Greenland's Minister of Industry and Natural Resources, Naaja Nathanielsen, expressed that Greenland's citizens are 'bewildered' by Trump's acquisition interest, stressing their desire to maintain independence.

At the World Economic Forum, European leaders reiterated their commitment to Greenland's sovereignty, raising concerns over Trump's proposed tariffs as a pressure tactic in these negotiations. Macron condemned Trump's approach, advocating for respect over intimidation.
