Large warehouse building engulfed in flames after drone strike

Ukraine carried out a drone strike on a Yandex data centre near Moscow, marking the third such hit on the Russian‑owned tech giant this week. The strike damaged the facility in the Vladimir region, forcing the company to suspend operations and leaving some of its services temporarily unavailable.

The Russian data‑centre is a key part of Yandex’s infrastructure, which also powers a popular food‑ordering and taxi app used by tens of millions of Russians. Yandex said it was working to restore connectivity but warned that it would be difficult to predict when services would fully resume.

The attack comes on the back of President Donald Trump’s call for Ukraine to stop hitting Russian oil refineries. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky responded on X, saying that any de‑escalation must be reciprocal and backed by real guarantees.

Both sides have stepped up attacks on critical infrastructure as the war reaches its fifth year. Russian strikes on Ukrainian targets have also intensified, with Ukrainian officials reporting casualties and damage across the south‑eastern region.
