Good Good apologises for controversial golf ad
On Monday, content creator and golf brand Good Good Golf issued an apology after a commercial for a new Callaway driver, posted to its social‑media channels, showed a woman being pushed to the ground when she reached for the club. The clip, featuring co‑founder Garrett Clark and professional golfer Alexis Miestowski, drew widespread criticism for seemingly trivialising violence against women.
Good Good took the video down immediately and released a statement on X saying, "We posted a video that ultimately depicted actions that are not aligned with our values as a brand" and apologising "sincerely for the offence caused." The company has long promoted greater inclusion in the sport and promises to maintain that mission.
Callaway, which has worked with Good Good since 2023, issued a joint response saying it was disappointed by the content but appreciative of the swift removal. The firm added that it will "work together to ensure a more inclusive space in golf."
Alongside the apology, PGA Tour officials reiterated the organisation’s commitment to an inclusive environment, stating that "we do not condone violence in any form, and the deleted video does not reflect our values." A PGA spokesman noted that the Good Good Championship, scheduled for November in Texas, remains on track.
Good Good’s YouTube channel, launched in 2020, now has over 2 million subscribers and has become a major player in golf content, running shows, challenges and advertising for clubs and apparel.
