At least 15 people have been confirmed dead in a shooting attack at Bondi Beach that occurred during the Jewish festival of Hanukkah. The victims include a young girl, a Holocaust survivor, and prominent community leaders.

Matilda, 10
Matilda was a joyful child from Harmony Russian School of Sydney. Her former teacher called her bright and spirited. Matilda was shot while attending the Hanukkah event, and her family is devastated by the loss.
Rabbi Eli Schlanger
This 41-year-old rabbi was a key organizer of the event and leaves behind a family of five. His cousin expressed deep sorrow over his tragic death.
Dan Elkayam
A French national who worked as an IT analyst, Elkayam was also a footballer and beloved member of the local community.
Alexander Kleytman
A Holocaust survivor who shielded his wife during the attack. His heroism is being honored by the community.
Boris and Sofia Gurman
This couple, married for 34 years, showed incredible bravery during the shooting, attempting to disarm the attacker.
Peter Meagher
A former police officer and rugby club member, he was killed while fulfilling his passion for photography during the event.

Rabbi Yaakov Levitan

Tibor Weitzen

At 82, she was an active member of the bridge club and was described as a terrific friend.
