At least seven people were killed in Russian strikes across Ukraine overnight, including five in the central city of Dnipro, where officials said an apartment building was hit. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the latest attack lasted 'practically all night,' while rescue workers were still searching for survivors under rubble in Dnipro on Saturday morning.

British jets were scrambled from Romania during the heavy attack when Russian drones were detected near the border, although the UK Ministry of Defence rejected reports of any drones being shot down. In a significant development, Ukraine also carried out some of its longest-distance drone strikes deep inside Russian territory.

In Yekaterinburg, nearly 1,000 miles from the Ukrainian border, six people were injured in a building strike, and drones targeting an industrial facility in nearby Chelyabinsk were shot down. Additional strikes resulted in casualties in the northern city of Chernihiv, with further attacks reported in Odesa and Kharkiv.

Ukrainian authorities claimed to have repelled most of the over 600 Russian drones involved in what appears to be the largest attack in several days. President Zelensky criticized the tactics of the attackers, emphasizing their focus on civilian infrastructure such as residential buildings and energy facilities.

The Russian Ministry of Defence reported that they shot down 127 drones across various regions and claimed control of Bochkove village in the Kharkiv region, although this has not been independently verified. Romania is also investigating an object that fell on its territory during the attacks. With diplomatic talks stalled, Ukraine continues to seek international support for its military operations. Recently, President Zelensky met with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, discussing potential military cooperation.
