Third Polish School Knife Attack in Week Leaves Three Injured
A 21‑year‑old woman has been arrested after stabbing three people in an educational institution in Warsaw, the Polish police said.
The attacker used a dangerous object to target a 17‑year‑old student, while two other women, aged 17 and 24, were injured after arriving to submit enrolment documents.
The incident follows two other school stabbings earlier this week, one of which claimed the life of a 37‑year‑old caretaker at a primary school in Leszczydół‑Nowiny.
Polish authorities have stepped up security across schools, detaining 76 people in a week and arresting suspects in several cases.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk insisted that there is no room for compromise when it comes to student safety, while police remain uncertain whether the attacks are connected or stem from an online challenge.
Police continue to investigate the motivations behind the attacks and how they may be related to internet trends.
