TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Investigators are pleading with the public for home surveillance videos from specific dates leading up to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, as they sift through a mountain of tips to solve the case of Savannah Guthrie's mother. The investigation has gained momentum, with authorities obtaining fresh surveillance footage depicting a masked individual on Nancy Guthrie's porch on the night she vanished, sparking new hopes among detectives.

On February 1, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her Tucson-area home, prompting an intensive search involving FBI agents who canvassed the neighborhood and examined the surrounding desert vegetation. Local residents reported increased police presence, including door-to-door inquiries looking for any evidence that may lead to the missing woman's whereabouts.

They did ask specifically for the 31st of January and the morning of the first of February and then they wanted to know if we saw anything suspicious on cameras since then, said neighbor Ann Adams, who reported that many in the area are on alert. The authorities have categorized Nancy Guthrie's case as one where she was taken against her will, underscoring the urgency of the situation, given her medical conditions requiring medication.

Local stations revealed that residents with Ring doorbell cameras were notified to submit footage from earlier incidents, which might be relevant to the timeline. Law enforcement has also reportedly collected several items, including a pair of black gloves, for DNA analysis as they seek to piece together the unfolding mystery surrounding her disappearance. As search efforts intensify, with over 4,000 tips submitted to the sheriff's office, the Guthrie family remains hopeful for any breakthrough in finding Nancy.
