A pilot with Starsky Aviation has been hailed as a hero following the miraculous crash-landing of his passenger plane on the shoreline near Mogadishu's international airport. Shortly after takeoff, the Fokker 50 reported technical difficulties, prompting the crew to request a return to Mogadishu. On landing, the aircraft overshot the runway, ultimately coming to rest in shallow water, yet all 55 passengers and crew escaped without serious injury.
