The director of the documentary titled 'Melania: 20 Days to History' has been photographed in an intimate setting with a young woman, as revealed by the US Department of Justice. Brett Ratner, also recognized for his work on the 'Rush Hour' series and 'X-Men: The Last Stand', is shown sitting next to the late Jeffrey Epstein and two other women, whose faces have been concealed in the images.

While the exact date when these images were taken remains unknown, they seem to be captured in a similar location to those released in December, depicting Ratner and Epstein alongside French modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, who is also deceased.

Significantly, there are no allegations of illegality connected to the released materials. The BBC has reached out to Ratner's representatives for a statement. The recent images are among millions of documents unveiled that pertain to Epstein, who died while awaiting trial for sex trafficking in 2019.

Included in this release is a thumbnail collection showcasing Ratner, Epstein, and Brunel in casual poses with various women, maintaining the anonymity of those depicted. This follows the legal regulations that necessitate redaction in relation to ongoing investigations or to safeguard the identity of victims.

The release coincides with the debut of Ratner's latest film focusing on Melania Trump, which has faced significant criticism regarding its connections to the Trump family and its questionable funding sources. This is Ratner's first project since allegations of sexual misconduct arose during the #MeToo movement in 2017, which he has denied.

The released files shed new light on Epstein's relationships with numerous high-profile individuals, including a wide array of celebrities and influential figures, highlighting the pervasive reach of his nefarious activities.
