The unexpected death of French streamer Raphaël Graven, widely known as Jean Pormanove, has sparked significant concern and a judicial investigation following the results of an autopsy. Graven, 46, was discovered lifeless in a residence in Contes, located north of Nice, on a recent Monday. French government minister Clara Chappaz expressed her shock at the incident, labeling it an "absolute horror."
Prosecutor Damien Martinelli announced on Thursday that the medical examiners confirmed Graven's death did not result from trauma and was unrelated to third-party involvement. The examination uncovered no signs of internal or external injuries, with only a few bruises and previously healed lesions noted by forensic doctors.
The prosecutor suggested that the likely causes of death could be medical or toxicological in nature, mentioning that Graven may have suffered from heart issues and had been under treatment for thyroid-related problems. The streaming platform Kick has also stated it is reviewing the circumstances surrounding the streamer's demise with urgency.
Reports from local media indicate that Graven had experienced prior episodes of violence and sleep deprivation during his live streams and tragically passed away in his sleep while streaming live. In light of this incident, police have interviewed multiple witnesses who were present during the time of Graven's death. Investigators have also seized equipment and video footage as part of their inquiry to offer clarity on events leading up to this unfortunate tragedy.
