In the western suburbs of Sydney, police carried out a major methamphetamine bust on Wednesday, arresting three men as part of an investigation into an alleged drug supply syndicate. Detectors from an organised crime strike force executed a search warrant on October 15 at a property in Glendenning, 36 kilometres northwest of central Sydney, seizing 45.4 litres of liquid methamphetamine, 5.6 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 48 rounds of ammunition. The seized drugs were valued at an estimated 15.4 million Australian dollars, equivalent to 10.8 million U.S. dollars on the street market.

A 38‑year‑old man was arrested at the time of the search and charged with supplying a prohibited drug in greater than large commercial quantities, an offence carrying a maximum penalty of life imprisonment, as well as possessing unlicensed ammunition. Two further men, both aged 46, were arrested on Tuesday by officers executing subsequent search warrants. During these searches, police seized an additional 88 grams of methamphetamine and discovered an inactive clandestine laboratory.

One of the 46‑year‑old men was charged with supplying a prohibited drug in greater than large commercial quantities. The other was charged with supplying a prohibited drug in greater than indictable, but less than commercial, quantities, and with supplying an unregistered pistol. All three men were refused bail, ending their freedom pending trial.

Police stated that the seizure was part of an ongoing effort to dismantle a network that channels methamphetamine into Sydney’s west. The operation highlighted the authorities’ focus on controlling large‑scale drug supply chains and preventing the spread of illicit substances in the community.

While the detailed identities of the suspects have not been released, the investigation underscores the seriousness with which Australian law enforcement treats drug trafficking offences, particularly those involving large commercial quantities. The case demonstrates a continued commitment to policing the western suburbs, where drug-related activity has been a concern for local residents and authorities alike.
