Chris Brown, known for chart-topping hits over the past two decades, was taken into custody early Thursday morning. The arrest connects to an incident that took place on February 19, 2023, at Tape nightclub in Hanover Square. Authorities were alerted to Brown's presence in the UK after The Sun reported on Wednesday that he had arrived via private jet, prompting the Metropolitan Police to take action.
A spokesperson for the Met confirmed that the 36-year-old singer was arrested at a hotel in Manchester at around 2 AM on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. As of now, he remains in custody while detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit handle the ongoing investigation.
The incident allegedly unfolded when Diaw claimed Brown struck him with a bottle, followed by physical assaults as Diaw lay on the ground. Diaw sustained serious injuries, requiring hospital treatment and crutches for mobility post-incident.
While Chris Brown's representatives have yet to comment on the arrest, the singer is scheduled for a series of shows across the UK this June and July as part of his ongoing tour. Known for hits like "Beautiful People," "No Air," and "Under The Influence," Brown's legal troubles could impact his performances moving forward.
