Accra, Ghana – Renowned Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale is currently in detention as part of a tax investigation linked to his recent acquisition of a luxury Lamborghini. According to his management team, the artist voluntarily reported to Ghana’s Economic and Organized Crime Office (Eoco) following the seizure of his distinctive yellow Lamborghini, valued at approximately $150,000 (£110,000). This seizure reportedly stems from allegations made by US authorities that the car is connected to criminal enterprises, particularly a case involving Nana Kwabena Amuah, a Ghanaian currently serving a seven-year sentence in the US for fraud.

While Shatta Wale's management did not address the US allegations directly, they indicated that his detention primarily relates to "tax obligations." Following the seizure, Wale claimed he was a “third-party owner” of the vehicle, asserting that he had no prior knowledge of its shipment to Ghana.

The Eoco has not yet released an official statement regarding the investigation. Meanwhile, Shatta Wale's team has requested fans to stay calm and refrain from speculation about the situation, assuring the public that his legal team is actively engaged with the authorities to resolve the matter.

The investigation and subsequent seizure are part of a broader initiative involving the Ghanaian government's collaboration with US law enforcement to dismantle an international fraud network known for targeting American citizens. Earlier this month, three alleged masterminds of a significant $100 million fraud scheme were extradited by the FBI and arrested. This ongoing crackdown highlights the global nature of financial crimes and the efforts being made to combat them.

As the situation develops, fans and observers alike are awaiting further details regarding Shatta Wale's legal standing and the fate of his seized vehicle.
