In brief
Starting December 12, 2026, Air Arabia will run two daily flights between Domodedovo and Sharjah, adding G9 951 to its existing G9 806 service. The new flight departs at 3:20 p.m. Moscow time and expands travel links via Sharjah to destinations such as the Maldives and Bangkok.
Air Arabia has announced an expansion of its route between Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport and Sharjah International Airport in the United Arab Emirates. The airline will add a second daily flight, beginning on December 12, 2026, according to a press release from Domodedovo Airport’s communications department.
The new service, designated G9 951, departs Domodedovo at 3:20 p.m. Moscow time. The flight will use an Airbus A320neo configured with a single‑class cabin that seats 174 passengers. The flight duration is expected to be five hours and 40 minutes, with a scheduled arrival in Sharjah at 2:20 p.m. local time.
The company will maintain its existing G9 806 service, which leaves Domodedovo at 10:55 p.m. Moscow time and arrives in Sharjah at 6:50 a.m. local time. That flight will continue to operate every day of the week, ensuring passengers still have a weekly late‑night option.
The addition of the new flight is intended to enhance the connectivity of Moscow to a range of international destinations that are reached via Sharjah. Air Arabia’s spokesperson noted that the expanded schedule will provide travelers with more flexible travel options to the Maldives, Phuket, Colombo, Bangkok, Jeddah, Medina, and Dhaka.
Spokesperson for the Domodedovo Airport said, "Starting December 12, Air Arabia will operate two daily flights from Domodedovo to Sharjah International Airport (UAE). The new flight, G9 951, will depart at 3:20 p.m. Moscow time…The flight will take five hours and 40 minutes." Unnamed staff from the airport’s press office confirmed these details in an official statement.
Air Arabia’s move comes as a period of growth for the airline’s network. The carrier already operates 330 flights daily to 54 destinations, and it has indicated a broader push to increase its presence in the Russian market by adding new services and adjusting flight frequencies.
The airline’s decision to add a second daily flight to Sharjah is also in line with the broader travel trends observed by airline analysts, who note that many Gulf carriers are intensifying their competitive stance on routes frequently served by other global carriers from major European hubs.
Passengers currently traveling between Moscow and Sharjah will now have two scheduled departures each day. The first, G9 806, will remain the late‑night option, while the second, G9 951, will provide a midday departure that offers an alternative timing for those with early or late travel plans.
The additional flight is expected to relieve some of the workload on the existing daily service and offer more robust scheduling options for both leisure and transit passengers. Those traveling to destinations such as Phuket or the Maldives may find the improved timing especially convenient for multi‑leg trips that involve a layover in Sharjah.
Air Arabia’s expansion into the Domodedovo–Sharjah route underscores the airline’s strategy of leveraging hubs in the United Arab Emirates to tap into the high‑volume travel corridors between Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. By increasing flight frequencies, the airline aims to capture a larger share of the market and improve the connectivity options for passengers originating from or transiting through Moscow.
As the airline prepares to implement the new schedule, it advises passengers to double‑check flight times and book seats in advance given the greater demand that often accompanies newly introduced flights. The airport’s official communication lines remain available for travelers to verify schedules or inquire about ticket availability.
