In brief
A significant clash has erupted between Prince Harry and charity leader Sophie Chandauka, who has accused the Duke of Sussex of harassment and bullying in a bid to remove her from her position.
An intensifying dispute unfolded this weekend as Sophie Chandauka, chair of the charity Sentebale co-founded by Prince Harry, leveled serious accusations against him. In a televised interview, she claimed that Harry's recent resignation as the charity's patron was a deliberate attempt to undermine the organization after his efforts to unseat her failed. “Can you imagine the impact this attack has had on me and the 540 members of the Sentebale community?” Chandauka remarked during her appearance on Sky News' "Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips." She labeled Harry's actions as “harassment and bullying at scale,” highlighting the broader implications of their conflict. While Chandauka has spoken out, representatives for Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, refrained from commenting on the situation. The charity Sentebale, established in 2006 in memory of Princess Diana, aims to provide support to young people affected by the HIV crisis in Lesotho and has since extended its outreach to Botswana, tackling various social issues that influence youth. Harry announced his resignation last week, coinciding with the departure of five of the nine members from the charity’s board, stating that the relationship with Chandauka had become irreparably damaged. The escalating tensions within the organization raise questions about its future and the dynamics among its leadership.
