Tiger Woods expressed astonishment as he was handcuffed following a vehicle crash last week in Florida, revealed by body camera footage released on Thursday. During the video, Martin County Sheriff’s deputy Tatiana Levenar informed Woods that he was under arrest for DUI due to impaired faculties caused by an unknown substance. Woods explained that he was distracted by his phone and changing the radio when his speeding Land Rover collided with a truck and rolled over on a residential road in Jupiter Island.
I’m being arrested? Woods questioned, to which the officer confirmed the arrest. The footage further revealed that officers discovered pills in Woods' pocket, which he identified as Norco, a painkiller containing acetaminophen and hydrocodone. Authorities later confirmed the presence of hydrocodone in his possession.
Woods stated he had not consumed alcohol but admitted to taking several medications earlier that day, although parts of his response were muted in the released footage. He entered a not guilty plea on Tuesday for the DUI charges and subsequently announced that he would be stepping away indefinitely to seek treatment and focus on his health.
