HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (AP) — The rapper Offset, a former member of the influential hip-hop trio Migos, was shot Monday outside a Florida casino and is in stable condition, according to a spokesperson.

Offset, who was once married to Cardi B, is being treated at a hospital, with details about his condition still emerging.

The Seminole Police Department confirmed that one person was injured in the shooting at the valet area outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel, but did not disclose the victim's identity. Two individuals have been detained, and police assured that the site is secure with no ongoing threat to the public.

Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was part of Migos, renowned for their unique triplet flow and hit tracks like 'Versace'. The group was nominated for Grammy awards, reflecting their significant impact on hip-hop.

In a tragic parallel, Offset's cousin Takeoff was shot and killed in Houston over three years ago, a loss that has underscored the persistent violence in the hip-hop community.

Offset and Cardi B, secretly married in September 2017, share three children, showing that personal life intertwines closely with their professional journeys. Cardi B's recent announcement of divorce has also garnered media attention.

Amid controversies surrounding violence, Offset's fellow rapper Quavo has been active in advocating against gun violence following Takeoff's death, looking to spark change within their community.
