Thousands of supporters of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) gathered in the heart of Delhi, defying a police ban and marching toward the parliament building.
Police forces responded with barricades and riot gear, causing scuffles that resulted in several demonstrators being injured by baton charges.
The protest stems from weeks of demonstrations over alleged NEET exam paper leaks – accusations that the civic system has failed its youth and broader claims of lack of accountability in education.
Unlike previous protests, the CJP has grown into one of the most visible expressions of dissent against the current government, drawing students, professionals, teachers and opposition politicians.
Despite attempts by the police to detain the movement founder, Abhijeet Dipke, the demonstrators persisted, refusing to disperse while volunteers supplied food and water under heavy rain.
The protests culminated in officials from the Health Ministry meeting with CJP representatives to discuss the group's demands, though the situation remained tense as police continued to enforce the ban.
