Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accepted an invitation to join US President Donald Trump's Board of Peace.

A statement from his office confirmed that Netanyahu will become a member of a board comprised of world leaders.

The board aims to address the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza and oversee reconstruction efforts, although its proposed framework does not explicitly mention Palestinian interests.

Countries such as the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have also agreed to join, alongside others including Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Morocco, and Vietnam. However, many nations have expressed hesitance about participating.

Netanyahu's office has raised concerns regarding the Gaza Executive Board's composition, stating that it was not coordinated with Israel and counteracts its policies. The inclusion of Turkish and Qatari representatives has been particularly contentious.

While Trump's board is designed to promote stability and governance, its foundation comes amidst strained relations and skepticism from key international players. Nations like Canada, Russia, and the UK have yet to publicly respond to their invitations.

As the board seeks to fulfill its mission, challenges loom large given the complex nature of peace negotiations in the region.
