At Least Two Killed in Toronto Street Festival Shooting

At least two people were killed and six others wounded in a shooting at Toronto’s annual Salsa on St Clair Latin festival on July 11, police confirmed.

Police received reports of an active shooter on St Clair Avenue at around 20:12 local time (01:12 BST) when a salsa festival was underway.

Six victims with gunshot wounds were found, with two pronounced dead at the scene. Law enforcement has secured the site and warned the public to stay away.

Authorities have not yet apprehended the suspect or suspects, and the investigation into the motive behind the shooting continues.

The incident occurred on St Clair Avenue, a busy stretch lined with shops and restaurants, and disrupted the 22nd annual festival of Latin music and dance.
