Antonio Brown will return to Miami to face an attempted murder charge, having waived extradition following his arrest by U.S. Marshals in Dubai. At a court hearing in Essex County, New Jersey, Brown agreed not to contest the extradition.

The former NFL wide receiver is accused of grabbing a gun from a security personnel after a celebrity boxing match on May 16 and firing two shots at a man he had previously fought with, causing one bullet to graze the victim's neck.

Witnesses captured the incident on cellphone video, which allegedly shows Brown brandishing the firearm and advancing towards the victim, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, who later identified Brown as the shooter.

The investigation into the incident unfolded over several days, with police initially not recognizing the victim until a full statement was provided on May 21, identifying Brown.

Brown, 37, will now await transfer to Florida authorities. In a previous social media post, he defended his actions, claiming he was acting in self-defense against multiple assailants. If convicted on the attempted murder charge, he faces a maximum of 15 years in prison and a potential fine of $10,000.

The NFL veteran, known for being a seven-time Pro Bowl selection and a key player in the Buccaneers' Super Bowl victory in 2021, has had a tumultuous career marked by legal issues and controversial behavior.
