At the scene, emergency crews worked to clear the buses from the road and restore traffic flow as safely as possible.

Buses involved in the incident are believed to have been operating regular transit routes. No passengers were publicly identified by police or local media.
The Botany Town Centre, a commercial hub in Auckland’s East Tamaki district, has seen increased traffic in recent months. Local businesses were quickly advised to stay close to the closed road until repair work was finished.
Following the collision, emergency services confirmed that all but one of the injured individuals were released from hospital care within a short period, though they will continue to receive follow‑up medical attention.
Police remain monitoring the site and are ensuring that the roadway is safely reopened for transit and private vehicles.
