She emphasized that the president’s record‑breaking failures marked a deteriorating administration. The next French presidential election will take place in April with the term expiring on 13 May 2027.
In Paris, Marine Le Pen criticised the ending of President Emmanuel Macron’s term as “pathetic,” saying that his record‑breaking failures—including a draft budget that received no votes—had worsened his tenure.
Le Pen said that Macron had broken many records, notably the rejection of the draft budget, which did not receive a single vote, not even from lawmakers in his own party.
She noted that these events illustrate the deterioration of his presidency, calling the final days “pathetic” in a speech to reporters.
Marine Le Pen expressed her criticism:
“Emmanuel Macron has indeed broken all records, including with the rejection of the draft budget, which didn't receive a single vote, not even from his own lawmakers. All this shows that the end of his presidency looks, frankly speaking, somewhat pathetic,” Le Pen said.
The remarks were reported by TASS and a video of Le Pen’s comments was published by BFMTV.
Le Pen’s comments come as France prepares for the first round of the 2027 presidential election scheduled for April, with the president’s term ending on 13 May 2027.
