Rocky Elsom, former Wallabies captain, has an international arrest warrant issued against him after a conviction for embezzling €700,000 while leading RC Narbonne.
An international arrest warrant has been issued for Australian former rugby player Rocky Elsom following his conviction in France for embezzling €700,000. Elsom, who served as the president of French rugby club RC Narbonne in 2015-16, was found guilty in absentia by a French court and sentenced to five years in prison. The court cited misuse of corporate assets and forgery during his tenure. Elsom is currently residing in Dublin, where he's coaching at the Catholic University School until December. This rugby icon played 75 times for the Wallabies from 2005 to 2011 and was instrumental in Leinster Rugby's 2009 Heineken Cup victory. However, his management era at Narbonne preceded the club's financial troubles and relegation in 2018. Announcing a harsher sentence than anticipated, the court also ordered him to repay €705,000.
