A 39-year-old British man has been detained in France following his attempt to organize a mock wedding featuring a 9-year-old girl at Disneyland Paris. The peculiar event took place early on Saturday, well before the amusement park opened, but was swiftly interrupted when staff recognized the child was underage.

Jean-Baptiste Bladier, a prosecutor in Meaux, northeast of Disneyland Paris, revealed that police were alerted to the situation and determined that the wedding was meant to be a private filming endeavor with numerous unwitting paid actors posing as guests. This incident has raised alarming questions about how a person with a history of sexual offenses managed to arrange a private event involving a minor at one of the world's most renowned theme parks.

The suspect, who reportedly used stolen Latvian identification and falsified documents, was apprehended while attempting to enact his plan. He was described by Mr. Bladier as having undergone a transformation, making him look drastically different from his actual appearance. The man now faces various charges, including identity theft, fraud, and money laundering, and he has been designated as an assisted witness in an ongoing investigation focused on potential child corruption.
