An investigation has been launched following the shocking death of Raphaël Graven, a French streamer famed for pushing the limits of extreme online challenges. Graven, known by his streaming name Jeanpormanove, was found deceased at his home in Contes, situated north of Nice. Reports indicate that he had suffered from physical and psychological challenges during his streams, ultimately passing away in his sleep while broadcasting live.

Clara Chappaz, a minister in the French government, condemned the situation, labeling Graven's death and the violence he endured as "absolute horror." She noted the prolonged humiliation he faced, underscoring the need for accountability in online platforms.

Kick, the streaming platform where Graven had a considerable following, expressed their sadness over his death and confirmed they were reviewing the circumstances surrounding this tragic event. "We are deeply saddened by the loss of Jeanpormanove and extend our condolences to his family, friends, and community," a spokesperson stated. The company reiterated its commitment to enforcing its community guidelines meant to protect users.

In light of the incident, Chappaz has referred the matter to Arcom, the French media authority, as well as Pharos, a system that addresses reports of concerning online content. Sarah El Haïry, the High Commissioner for Children in France, described the tragedy as "horrifying" and emphasized the significant responsibility platforms hold in regulating content to safeguard the youth from violent material.

Graven had built a robust community on Kick and boasted a following of over one million across multiple social media platforms. His passing was announced on Instagram by his co-creator, Naruto, who honored Graven as his "brother, sidekick, partner," appealing to the public to avoid sharing clips of his death.

Fellow streamer Owen Cenazandotti, who collaborated with Graven in a recent streaming event, also urged viewers on Instagram not to disseminate footage of his "last breath," calling for respect for his memory amidst the tragedy.
