Survivors, like Kalpana Malla, watched with horror as the flood consumed her father, mother, sister and niece. "They could not escape the flood; there was no chance at all," she said.

Other accounts note the loss of livestock and crops: Goma Pandit lost all her cattle and the farm’s produce—ten sacks of mustard seeds, tons of corn and rice paddy—was swept away.

Rescuers are still working the muddy tracks to reach victims, while those missing are undergoing frantic searches. At TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu, families await news, demanding emergency aid, food, shelter and medical support for those left homeless.
