Russian ballistic missile strike on Kyiv leaves one dead, 12 injured

Russia has attacked Ukraine with ballistic missiles and drones, killing one person and leaving at least 12 others injured after strikes across Kyiv and the surrounding area.

Kyiv’s military administration head, Timur Tkachenko, warned that the "enemy is once again massively attacking the Kyiv region," hitting both residential buildings and warehouses.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko expressed concern that people could be trapped under rubble after attacks on the city centre.

Russia has stepped up its attacks on Kyiv in recent weeks. On Wednesday, air‑raid alerts remained in force for more than an hour as waves of missiles struck the capital and its outskirts.

Tkachenko noted that the consequences of the attack were being recorded in the Bucha, Brovary, and Fastiv districts. He urged residents not to ignore air‑raid sirens and to safeguard themselves and their families.

The Kyiv military administration confirmed that one woman was killed and at least 12 others wounded in the attacks.

Ukraine has increased its strikes on Russian civilian infrastructure, including power facilities, and repeatedly targeted depots of the Russian e‑commerce giant Wildberries. A recent attack on Wildberries warehouses in the Moscow region killed five people and wounded ten.

The prior day, Russian officials reported that a drone hit a busy beach in the southern Krasnodar region, killing seven people and injuring 58 tourists.

Ukraine criticized a video showing a man being chased by a drone in Kherson, labeling it a deliberate "hunt" and "safari" targeting civilians. Both sides deny deliberately targeting civilians.

Ukraine has urged its allies for more U.S.–made Patriot missile interceptors to defend against Russian ballistic attacks on the capital.
