The couple announced their engagement only nine months after meeting in 2024 and celebrated the occasion amongst close friends and family at Madonna's former Hollywood Hills estate. Their romance has already drawn media attention, linked to Bechtel's Instagram post about a diamond ring and mentioned in pop‑culture discussions about Taylor Swift. The wedding also highlighted celebrity attendance, including Charli XCX, and the couple’s social media were lively with hen‑do photos.

The couple announced their engagement in 2024, after dating for nine months, and celebrated with a private ceremony on Saturday attended by family and close friends.

According to several U.S. media outlets, the wedding took place at Madonna’s former estate in the Hollywood Hills and celebrities such as Charli XCX were in attendance.

Bechtel, 28, and Healy, 37, first linked months after he split from Taylor Swift, whom he dated briefly in 2023. Their relationship reportedly inspired tracks on Swift’s acclaimed album The Tortured Poets Department.

In June 2024, Bechtel shared a photo of her wearing a large black diamond ring on her ring finger on Instagram, joking that marrying The 1975 was “brat”.

Healy’s mother, Denise Welch, a Loose Women star, confirmed the engagement on a podcast.

Videos of Healy at his stag‑do performing with a tribute band to The 1975 have also circulated online.

The American model is also a musician, lead vocalist and songwriter of the punk rock band Nasty Cherry, founded by Charli XCX. Her husband, George Daniel, is The 1975’s drummer.

The 1975 are known for hits such as Chocolate, Somebody Else and Girls; they have had five UK number one albums and headlined Glastonbury last year.

The band has since entered an indefinite hiatus from live performances.
