Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has convened a meeting with his top advisers to discuss Donald Trump's 'Board of Peace' for Gaza, responding to the announcement that the U.S. did not consult Israel in its formation.

Netanyahu's office expressed discontent, stating the project was 'not coordinated with Israel and runs contrary to its policy.' The Gaza Executive Board includes notable figures such as the Turkish foreign minister and Jared Kushner, while a broader Board of Peace remains a contentious topic as it is part of Trump's extensive plan to manage the reconstruction of Gaza.

This initiative has spurred additional scrutiny, especially given that the newly discussed organizational structure lacks Palestinian representation, which some Israeli leaders see as a diplomatic failure. Notably, Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir of Israel criticized the need for an administrative body, insisting that Gaza requires a more direct approach against Hamas.

As international leaders weigh involvement in the committee, the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate. The UN reports significant destruction and a pressing need for aid, prompting concerns that proposed assistance efforts might not sufficiently address the ongoing crisis as winter impacts further complicate living conditions.
