Israel Air Strikes Hit Tyre, 8 Killed and Evacuation Order Issued

Smoke over Tyre

Israeli forces carried out a series of air and artillery strikes in the southern Lebanese city of Tyre on Tuesday, leaving seven people dead and 32 injured, according to the Lebanese health ministry.

The military issued an evacuation order that covered the entire city, including the Christian quarter for the first time, citing growing Hezbollah activity near the border.

Iran had earlier warned Israel that it would retaliate if attacks continued, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the fighting was far from over.

In the broader context, tensions have been heightened after an Israeli strike in Beirut that killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, a hit that triggered the latest flare‑up.

The bombardment comes amid attempts by the United States to broker a ceasefire between Israel, Lebanon and Iran, though both sides have insisted on maintaining military operations in southern Lebanon.

In the days that followed, the Israeli military continued to target Hezbollah positions in the region, responding to rocket fire and drone attacks aimed at Israeli troops and equipment.

The situation remains volatile as all parties keep their forces on high alert, with further escalations feared in the coming weeks.
