The mystery surrounding the disappearance of the 84-year-old mother of NBC News anchor Savannah Guthrie has deepened. Nancy Guthrie disappeared on the night of January 31 from her home in Tucson, Arizona, and police believe she was taken against her will.
Authorities are investigating a series of ransom notes that may have been sent by the person or persons involved in her suspected abduction. The Guthrie family has made several public pleas for her safe return, urging for proof that their mother is still alive.
According to reports, Nancy was last seen on the evening of January 31, around 9:30 PM local time, when family members dropped her off. Concerns escalated when a doorbell camera connected to her home was removed at 1:47 AM and the app for her pacemaker disconnected shortly after. Her absence was noted by church members the following Sunday, which prompted the family to contact law enforcement.
More than a week later, police released footage of a masked individual, armed, who had approached her home that night. The investigation remains active, with the authorities urging anyone with information related to this case to come forward. Savannah Guthrie has shared poignant messages asking for help, emphasizing the family's desperation for answers regarding her mother’s whereabouts and wellbeing.
