Tragic Mass Shooting in Tumbler Ridge Claims Nine Lives
Canadian police have reported a catastrophic mass shooting at a school and home in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, resulting in the deaths of nine individuals and injuries to at least 25 others. The tragic event unfolded in this small rural community during a school day, accumulating shock and sorrow across the nation.
Just after 1:20 PM local time, authorities received notifications about an active shooter at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School. Officers swiftly responded, locking down the school and nearby areas as panic-stricken residents were advised to shelter in place. The gravity of the situation escalated as police identified multiple victims within the school and a nearby residence, including the shooter found dead due to a self-inflicted injury.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed that among the deceased were six individuals inside the school, while two additional victims were located in a nearby home. Some of the injured were airlifted to hospitals with life-threatening injuries.
