Three students were killed and several others injured when two teenagers shot a .38 revolver and a 9‑mm pistol, inside a classroom at San Jose National High School in Tacloban, Philippines.
\The suspects, aged 14 and 15, are believed to have acted as a revenge test over bullying. One was arrested shortly after the incident; the other later surrendered.
\Police recovered about 40 spent shells and found the weapons at the scene – one pistol belonged to a policewoman who was a relative of the teens, now in custody.
\Law enforcement officials said red‑flag behaviour had been missed and urged better monitoring and safer storage of firearms at home.
\The tragedy prompted a review of school security protocols, bullying policies and student behaviour monitoring systems.
\Public authorities called for responsible gun ownership and urged parents to take precautions.

\President Ferdinand Marcos’s spokesperson said the president was saddened by what happened and called for united support for those affected.
