Kendrick Lamar and Lady Gaga have emerged as the frontrunners for the 2026 Grammy Awards, dominating the nominations list. Lamar leads with a total of nine nominations, including the highly coveted Album of the Year for his critically acclaimed album, GNX.

Lady Gaga follows with seven nominations for her album Mayhem, which showcases a return to her electro-pop roots. This year marks a significant milestone with the inclusion of K-Pop in the Song of the Year category, featuring the tracks 'APT' by Rosé and Bruno Mars, and 'Golden' from Netflix's animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters.

Notably, if Kendrick Lamar wins Album of the Year, GNX would be the first rap album to take home the award since Outkast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below in 2004. He faces stiff competition from Tyler, The Creator and the hip-hop duo Clipse, both of whom have received nominations in the same category.

The Grammy Awards will take place on February 1, 2026, at a star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles, where the winners will be announced following a final round of voting taking place from December 12, 2025, to January 5, 2026.
