The Kyiv region governor, Tymur Tkachenko, confirmed that a nighttime drone strike by Russian forces left at least 27 people dead. The attack also caused significant damage to residential areas, prompting emergency services to evacuate 381 residents.
Tkachenko added that 42 people were injured—four of them children—in a separate assault on the Bucha district. The governor reports another 14‑year‑old was killed in the Boryspil district. He condemned the killings as “yet another victim of Russian terror.”
President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his condolences to the grieving families and revealed that more than 300 emergency responders have been deployed to the affected area. He also highlighted that Russia carried out additional strikes across the Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
In a recent message on Telegram, Zelensky stressed that Ukraine cannot face such attacks alone and urged continued international support, sanctions, and aid.
Ukrainian air defence units reported intercepting 233 Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during the night, further illustrating the intensification of hostilities.
In the preceding 24 hours, Moscow reported striking the Belgorod and Rostov regions, with Rostov Governor Yuri Slusar citing seven injured individuals in the assault.
