Activists Attempt to Deliver Aid Amid Besieged Palestinian Homes in Qusra

Two Palestinian families in the West Bank village of Qusra have been trapped by Israeli settlers since Sunday, with their power and water supplies cut off.

Local activists tried to place water and food supplies near the houses, but Israeli soldiers stopped them from entering to hand them directly. The IDF insists the area was a "closed military zone" and that civilians, including the activists, cannot enter.

Settlers later set up a tent on the site the next day, after a previous operation to disperse them. The Israeli forces removed the tent while purportedly protecting the residents.

The mayor of Qusra said Israeli soldiers used the vacated homes as barracks, a detail that appears in the recent IDF statements.

Neighbors and activists point to the long‑standing issue of settler encroachment and the displacement of Palestinian communities, with more than 6,300 Palestinians forced from their homes since 2023.

These tensions highlight the broader challenge of Israeli settlers’ rapid expansion, which the government often supports despite international law deeming settlements illegal.
