The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) has issued an important warning, urging consumers to inspect their Celsius energy drink cans, particularly the Astro Vibe Blue Razz edition. This alert stems from an unfortunate mix-up where empty cans intended for Celsius were accidentally sent to the vodka seltzer company High Noon, which filled them with alcohol.
As a result of this error, High Noon is conducting a recall of its Beach Variety packs that also originated from the same production line. Thankfully, no illnesses or adverse events related to the incident have been reported, as confirmed by the USFDA.
The recall specifically targets two production lots, the details of which can be found on the USFDA's website. Affected products were distributed to retailers across several states, including Florida, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin, between July 21 and July 23.
Customers should note the retail code UPC 085000040065 for the recalled High Noon packs, which include the following lot codes:
- L CCC 17JL25 from 14:00 to 23:59
- L CCC 18JL25 from 00:00 to 03:00
For the Celsius drinks, the corresponding retail code is UPC 8 89392 00134 1 with the following lot codes:
- L CCB 02JL25 from 2:55 to 3:11
These lot codes are engraved on the bottoms of the cans. The USFDA recommends that consumers promptly dispose of any Celsius Astro Vibe energy drink cans that match the impacted lot codes and avoid consuming the contents.
It is important to note that High Noon Beach Variety packs bearing different lot codes are safe for consumption and not part of this recall.
