Six people lost their lives and four were injured overnight in Ukrainian missile strikes on Russia’s Belgorod region, its acting governor announced.
Acting governor Alexander Shuvaev posted the figures on Telegram early Monday, noting that among the wounded was a 14‑year‑old child.
The latest attacks followed what officials described as the “largest‑scale” strike of 2026, which had already claimed at least seven lives. Russian airstrikes on Ukraine that night killed at least seven people and injured more than 39.
In the village of Koloskovo in the Valuysky district—near the Russia‑Ukraine border—one building was set afire and a car was damaged. The injured child was transported to a hospital and two others received medical aid.
In recent weeks, Moscow has escalated missile attacks across Ukraine, while Kyiv has increased drone operations deep inside Russian territory. Both sides continue to accuse one another of targeting civilians.
Residents and observers remain wary of the escalating cross‑border conflict as civilian areas grow ever more vulnerable.
