Russia has launched the largest aerial attack on Ukraine over a 24-hour period since the war began, hitting cities across the country with 948 drones. Ukraine's Air Force reported that 556 drones were fired during the day, marking an unusual daytime assault that resulted in at least three fatalities and many injuries. The western city of Lviv suffered damage to its historic 16th-century Bernardine monastery and other residential buildings. In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, a maternity hospital was targeted, while overall strikes across various Ukrainian regions led to multiple casualties. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the scale of the attacks, stating they indicated Russia's lack of resolve to end the conflict. However, the Ukrainian Air Force managed to intercept a substantial number of the drones, though many still struck their targets. As the war continues to escalate, the toll on civilian life and infrastructure remains considerable.
