Donald Trump is the only world leader capable of stopping Vladimir Putin from threatening Europe, according to Poland's President Karol Nawrocki.
In an interview with Radio 4's Today programme, he stated that the Russian leader was not to be trusted, and Europe needed to do everything possible to support Trump’s efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
Nawrocki, known as a staunch Trump supporter, emphasized that amidst escalating threats from Putin, the U.S. president is uniquely positioned to resolve the crisis and safeguard European stability.
Referencing last September's drone incursions by Russia into Poland, President Nawrocki remarked on the extraordinary nature of the threat, prompting discussions about NATO's collective defense capabilities.
He expressed gratitude to the UK for deploying RAF Typhoon jets to aid in Polish defense, affirming Poland's ongoing hybrid war against Russian threats, including drones and misinformation campaigns.
Nawrocki highlighted the precarious situation in Europe, asserting that the U.S. remains a critical guarantor of security, despite concerns about disconnects between the U.S. and its European partners.
While acknowledging Europe’s focus on various ideological issues, he stressed the importance of military readiness, with Poland allocating 5% of its GDP to defense.
In conclusion, Nawrocki reaffirmed the importance of Polish-British relations, especially as about one million Poles live and contribute to the UK today.
