In a surprising turn of events, Ryan Borgwardt, the Wisconsin man who orchestrated the elaborate ruse of faking his own death, has surfaced through a video message confirming he is "safe" and "secure." The clip was shared in a press conference by Sheriff Mark A. Podoll of Green Lake County, revealing that Borgwardt, who previously vanished leaving behind his wife and three children, is currently located in an undisclosed area in Eastern Europe. In the 24-second video recorded on November 11, Borgwardt addressed his audience with a quiet voice from what appeared to be a modest apartment. He reported his current state, saying, “I am safe, secure, no problem. I hope this works.” Although diplomatic channels have been engaged, and authorities have been in near-constant communication with him, his exact location remains a mystery.Sheriff Podoll expressed concern for the family left behind, stating investigators are urging Borgwardt to return home and resolve the ramifications of his actions. Despite these appeals, Borgwardt has yet to commit to coming home. "We keep pulling at his heartstrings,” commented Podoll, underscoring the determination of law enforcement to reconnect Borgwardt with his family. "We’re not going to give up,” he affirmed, emphasizing the emotional toll on the children awaiting their father’s return.
