Former PM aide finds Trump unexpectedly funny in first call

In a surprising BBC interview, Morgan McSweeney, the former chief of staff to former UK prime minister, said he was stunned by the humour of former U.S. president Donald Trump during a phone call with Sir Keir Starmer.

McSweeney revealed that the call was punctuated by Trump’s light‑hearted remark about “foxes eating birds killed by windmills” – the nickname Trump used for wind turbines – which sent the room into laughter.

“He went on to say the foxes ate so many birds they got lazy, then fat, and people no longer knew what kind of creature they were,” he said, noting the staff kept a straight face.
