Describing the chaos, she noted that her neighborhood had turned into a 'war zone' as protests escalated rapidly across the nation. Citizens of all ages united in chants against the ruling regime, calling for change.
'I saw people getting shot and falling down, and I saw blood on the street,' she recounted, describing the heartbreaking violence that unfolded before her eyes. The Iranian government's severe crackdown escalated with the use of live ammunition against unarmed citizens.
As the violence continued, Parnia and others tried to evade police attention and witnessed gruesome scenes inside makeshift shelters for injured protesters. Many did not seek treatment at hospitals due to fears of arrest, complicating the crisis.
Despite the government’s efforts to curb information through internet blackouts, Parnia has vowed to share her story and support the Iranian opposition abroad, arising from deep frustration with how Iranians are portrayed as divided.
