Singer Chappell Roan has confirmed her exit from the Wasserman talent agency, led by Casey Wasserman, who has come under scrutiny due to his name appearing in the recently unearthed Epstein files. Roan cited a 'duty to protect her team' and emphasized that 'meaningful change in our industry requires accountability.'

Wasserman has faced backlash for previously revealed flirtatious emails to Ghislaine Maxwell from 2003, which surfaced among the files linked to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. In her Instagram announcement, Roan did not directly reference Epstein, focusing instead on her principles and the agency's ethical implications.

She expressed, 'No artist, agent or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values.'

Wasserman's involvement with Epstein stories has prompted calls for him to resign from various roles, including his position as chairman of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. Additionally, he has stated that he 'deeply regrets' the emails exchanged with Maxwell, now serving a 20-year sentence for her crimes.

Roan's departure follows suit behind other bands represented by Wasserman, who have voiced their distress over the recent revelations. Rock band Beach Bunny expressed their disappointment regarding Wasserman's ties to Maxwell, advocating for his resignation not just for moral reasons, but for the sake of staff welfare.
